Military Time (as defined by the START Guide)

-           The Navy operates on a 24 Hour day

-           Hours of the day are numbered from 1 to 24; at noon, instead of starting over at 1 the Navy goes to 13

-           For example the hours 8am and 7pm are called 0800 (zero eight hundred) and 1900 (nineteen hundred) respectively

-           Hours and minutes in the Navy are pronounced: 10:45 am = 1045 (ten forty-five) and 9:30pm = 2130 (twenty-one thirty)

-           Do not add ‘Hours” at the end when reciting time
